Introduction: Diabetes is one of the most common chronic diseases, which has a negative effect on the quality of life.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of training based on positive psychology on the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes.
Materials and Methods: This quasi-experimental study had a Pre-test-Post-test with a control group and a follow-up design. The sample was selected through the convenience sampling method from patients with type 2 diabetes in Hazrat Ali Health center in Isfahan in 2017; then, they were randomly divided into 2 groups (each group contained 15 individuals). The experimental group was trained with positive psychology and the control group did not receive any treatment. Both groups were evaluated before and after the intervention and at the follow-up stage, using the World Health Organization Quality of Life questionnaire. The data were analyzed by the analysis of variance with repeated measurements.
Results: The results showed that positive psychological education had a significant influence on the quality of life and mental health area, social relations, and environmental health in patients with type 2 diabetes. Also, there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups; but in the physical health area, there was no significant difference between the experimental and control groups (P<0.001).
Conclusion: Positive psychological education effectively improves the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes. Therefore, it is recommended to use this treatment approach to help improve the quality of life of these patients.

Background: The cardiac function of patients with acute myocardial infarction plays a vital role in disease prognosis. The risk of ischemic heart disease and death in people with type D personality is 4 times more than those with lower levels of negative affect and social inhibition. In this regard, lifestyle is the objective and quantifiable dimension of human personality.
Objectives: The research aimed to model the cardiac function based on type D personality with the mediating role of health-promoting lifestyle in patients with acute myocardial infarction.
Materials and Methods: The present research has employed a correlational method based on structural equation modeling, especially the regression equation. The statistical population of this research included all patients with acute myocardial infarction (ST-segment elevation MI) under primary percutaneous coronary intervention referred to Mazandaran Cardiac Center in Sari City, Iran, from 2017 to 2018. A total of 220 patie nts were selected through the Muller regression equation modeling formula, considering the ratio of the sample size to the free parameter, by the purposive sampling method. They responded to the D personality questionnaire and the health-promoting lifestyle questionnaire.
Results: Type D personality variable can directly predict the cardiac function of patients with acute myocardial infarction. This variable also predicts the cardiac function of these patients through the mediation of a health-promoting lifestyle.
Conclusion: Type D personality has a direct and indirect effect on the heart disease and prognosis of patients with myocardial infarction (because of the mediating role of health-promoting lifestyle), and screening for this personality type is necessary.

Background: Depression is a severe and debilitating mental disorder that afflicts many people worldwide.
Objectives: This study tried to compare the effectiveness of behavioral activation treatment for depression (BATD) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) matrix on the depression of college students.
Materials and Methods: The present study is an experimental design using a pre-test and Post-test with a control group. The therapeutic intervention in the experimental group was implemented in eight 1-h sessions once per week for female students between 18 and 35 years old, who had depression symptoms. The participants in the experimental and control groups responded to the Beck depression inventory second edition (BDI-II) before and after the intervention, and in follow-up (4 weeks after the end of the intervention).
Results: According to the analysis of covariance, the ACT matrix and BATD reduced the symptoms of depression. There was no significant difference between the two groups in depression (ACT matrix and BATD) (P=0.999). This indicates the almost identical effect of the ACT matrix and BATD. Eta coefficient shows that matrix and BATD explain 0.64 of depression and these results were sustained in the follow-up stage.
Conclusion: both ACT matrix and BATD can significantly reduc the symptoms of depression in college students.

Background: Various protective mechanisms have been proposed to explain how positive and negative emotions increase marital satisfaction.
Objectives: This study aimed to determine the relationship between personality traits and marital satisfaction with the mediating role of positive and negative affects.
Materials and Methods: The research method was descriptive and correlational. In this research, 300 married women living in the eastern part of Tehran City, Iran, were selected by the available sampling method. The study instruments were five factors personality trait, marital satisfaction scale, and positive and negative affective questionnaire. The obtained data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient and path analysis.
Results: The results of the test using Imus software showed that the indirect effect of personality traits on marital satisfaction was significant through the positive and negative affect mediators (P<0.05).
Conclusion: The results of this study support the effectiveness of interventions and training to remove and decrease negative emotions.

Introduction: School bullying is one of the most prevalent issues facing school personnel today and the threat of this behaviour to a safe school environment.
Objectives: The study was designed to examine the predictive effects of neuroticism and emotional intelligence on the bullying behavior of students.
Materials and Methods: A descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The study participants consisted of 130 randomly-selected students from a college that is predominantly for boys in Ondo State, Nigeria. Three standardized scales were used to obtain data from the participants. Then, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple regression analysis were used to analyse the data collected, by SPSS V. 25 and AMOS V. 24.
Results: Three research hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The result revealed a significant relationship between neuroticism, emotional intelligence and bullying behavior among college students. Neuroticism and emotional intelligence accounted for 25% of the variation of bullying behavior and contributed significantly to the prediction.
Conclusion: Based on these findings, school counsellors and psychologists are recommended to assist in training students who score high on neuroticism and help them understand and manage their personality type effectively without posing threats to others.

Introduction: The extent of internet use broadly influences the different aspects of life. Also, the cognitive, emotional, and environmental factors affect the internet dependency.
Objectives: Severe internet dependency creates a disorder, therefore, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between social support and internet addiction in nursing students, considering the mediating role of alexithymia.
Materials and Methods: It was a descriptive-correlational study based on structural equation modeling and specific regression equation. A total number of 361 nursing students (178 females and 183 males) were selected with the random sampling method, in Gorgan City, Iran, from October to November 2018. The participants filled the Zimet et al. (1988) social support scale, the Toronto Alexithymia Scale, and the Young (1996) internet addiction scale. Then, the collected data were analyzed with the regression structural equation modeling, in SPSS-18 and Amos-23 software programs.
Results: The regression equations showed a direct effect of social support on internet addiction and an indirect effect of social support on internet addiction with the mediation of alexithymia (P ˂ 0.01). Moreover, alexithymia positively affects internet addiction (P ˂ 0.01), and social support negatively affects alexithymia (P ˂ 0.01).
Conclusion: The study model predicts 33% of internet addiction variance. This research highlights the important effect of social support on internet addiction, which is mediated by alexithymia, in students. These results provide advisers and trainers with applicable methods to improve the psychological states of students.
